OLUMC Church Council recently voted overwhelmingly in favor of beginning the process to become a Reconciling UMC church. What does that mean for us, for our church, and for our mission to “Let love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:1-2)? We have two upcoming meetings that will help you learn:
Wednesday, October 21, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor
This small group discussion
will focus more on the mission and purpose of the Reconciling Ministries Network. We will provide a light snack, so kindly let us know you are coming by sending an RSVP to John Horany at email@example.com
Sunday, October 25, following 11:00 a.m. Worship Service in the Sanctuary
This will be the first Congregational meeting to discuss the process of becoming a Reconciling Church. Reconciling communities within the denomination are formally designated as inclusive of all people.
If you want to do your own research, you can learn more about the Reconciling Ministries Network from their website. If you have questions, contact Pastor Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org or (214) 521-5197 ext. 120. Thank you!
