Oak Lawn Child Development Center serves healthy, nutritious meals three times a day. Breakfast is served between 8 and 8:30 a.m., lunch times vary by class, and afternoon snack is served after naptime. A wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables are served throughout the week and we limit the use of processed foods and foods with additional sugars. By incorporating recipes children know and love with new recipes each week, children are given the opportunity to gain the skill of trying new foods. Meals are served family style in a relaxed, conversational atmosphere where children learn about nutrition and table manners. We follow the state requirements for children’s food needs ages birth through age five. Parents may choose to provide alternate food from home at any time.
