Russ Rieger Director of Music Ministry
The OLUMC Chancel Choir is the flagship ensemble of our choral music ministry. Having served OLUMC faithfulfully for generations, the choir has a long and distinguised performance history. The ensemble presently serves our 10:50 AM Sanctuary service on a weekly basis. The choir sings literature of various styles, but primarily focuses on standard liturgical music, including music of past masters of the art as well as more contemporary fare.
The Chancel Choir is open to all interested parties aged Senior High School and beyond. No auditions are required for membership, but it is expected that all participants will share a mutual commitment to the responsibilities of membership.
The Chancel Choir regularly rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:00 PM, in the Choir Room. Child care is provided for all rehearsals and services by email reservation at least 3 days before.
The "Ju-Bell-ation" Ringers
The handbell choir is dedicated to learning the ancient and honorable art of bell ringing. This group provides music for worship services as well as presenting programs and festivals at special times of the year.
