Church Childcare Worker
Part-Time

Job Title:  Church Childcare Worker – Part-Time
Location:  Dallas, TX
Department:   Administration
1st Level Manager:  Senior Church Childcare Worker
2nd Level Manager:  Director of Finance, Operations and Outreach
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt – Part-Time
Pay Range:  $11 - $13 per hour

Purpose:

To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our Church, ages 0-4 years in a clean environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. Universal precautions should always be used while changing diapers or time of body fluids.
  • Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Arrive on time.
  • Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult names on the child’s registration form.
  • In the event of an emergency notify the parent via the communication system (cell phone/pager)
  • Straighten the room and clean any toys/beds before leaving. All toys that have been used must be disinfected properly.


Working Hours:

Childcare hours include every Sunday from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. You are expected to work all Sundays even if it falls on a holiday. You will have the option to work other special worship services, i.e., Easter, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve. Opportunity for extra work will be announced at least 4-weeks prior to the event.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities.
  • Trained in CPR and First Aid

Required Qualifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of background check
  • Must complete required Ministry Safe training course within first 30-days of employment.
  • If not currently training in CPR and First Aid, must successfully complete CPR and First Aid training within 90-days of employment. (Oak Lawn UMC will cover costs of training)
  • Ability to lift up to 30-pounds.

  • Internal - OLUMC Teams, Members, Visitors, Volunteers, Boards and Committees

Work Environment:

This role mainly works with individuals of a very impressionable age, so an individual with great patience and a calming personality are important. Individual must be on-time. The employee must assure sound and open communications between themselves, staff, and the congregation of OLUMC


 

Senior Church Childcare Worker
Part-Time

Job Title:  Senior Church Childcare Worker – Part-Time

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt – Part-Time
Pay Range:  $13 - $15 per hour

Purpose:

  • Serve as supervisor in charge of childcare whenever childcare is needed.
